Brescia Hosts Talk to Help Provide Safe Water to Third World Countries

Brescia University and Biology Thread present Water with Blessings: Bringing Clean Water to God’s Thirsty Children, an informational and inspirational talk by Sr. Larraine Lauter, Executive Director of Water with Blessings. Water with Blessings is a community of persons who share a passion for bringing safe water to those in third world countries.

The event will take place Monday, March 2 from 4-5 pm at Brescia University, 717 Frederica Street, in the Science Building 325. This will be a kickoff to a fundraiser for Water with Blessings being done by Brescia University biology seniors in conjunction with this year’s biology thread symposium.

The World Health Organization attributes two million deaths annually to unsafe water, sanitation and hygiene. While tap water is not available to many countries, Water with Blessings has found a way to put pure water in the hands of those who need it most.

The organization recognizes and builds upon the capacity of local people as the solution for their own local need for safe water. The group works to empower mothers as Water Women in ministry to their communities, equipping them with the highest quality filtration system.

Brescia students will be contributing to the cause by purchasing filters for the project.
