My name is Kaylee Crawley and I’m a junior Speech-Language Pathology major at Brescia University, originally from Louisville, KY. When I started my college search I wasn’t certain what kind of university I wanted to attend so I researched colleges on the internet and went to tons of college fairs. In fact, it was at a college fair where I first heard about Brescia.
The small class sizes first attracted me to Brescia. Hearing stories from friends and family about their college experiences, which mostly consisted of hundreds of other students in a classroom where their professor didn’t know their name, helped me realize I didn’t want to be just a number in a classroom. I wanted my professors to know and care about me.
The Brescia community is the other thing that attracted me to the University. As soon as I walked on campus at Brescia I could tell something was different about it, and that difference was the people. The students, faculty, and staff were very welcoming as soon as I came on campus — they wanted to know me and they cared about me. I knew then that it was the right school for me because I could see it as my “home away from home.”
Brescia University was and continues to be the right choice for my family and me. I’m able to be involved in many clubs and organizations on campus while remaining dedicated to academics. My parents love that I found a place where I can flourish both academically and socially. I recommend that you and your family check out what Brescia has to offer by coming to tour campus (maybe I can be your tour guide!) or attending admission events such as Open House or Preview Day. I know you’ll fall in love with it just like I did.
