Brescia University is recognized throughout Owensboro and the surrounding region for its excellent Communication Sciences and Disorders program. Students earn a pre-professional Bachelor of Science degree that prepares them for graduate study in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Speech-language pathologists are healthcare professionals who assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. They work with individuals experiencing challenges related to speech, language, cognition, voice, fluency (stuttering), hearing, and swallowing.
The Communication Sciences and Disorders program combines rigorous classroom instruction with hands-on field and practicum experiences in a supportive, student-centered learning environment. Guided by the standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), students develop the knowledge and skills needed to successfully pursue a master’s degree and future professional certification.
For students wishing to continue their education at Brescia, the university also offers a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. Brescia undergraduate students may be eligible for preferred acceptance into the graduate program. Please see the Graduate Admissions section for admission requirements and preferred acceptance standards.
