This course introduces students to the foundational concepts of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics, which are essential for understanding pharmacology and therapeutics. Through a combination of lectures and active learning exercises, students will develop the pharmacologic and therapeutic skills necessary for a PA to improve patient care in clinical settings. This semester will place particular emphasis on prescription writing and dermatologic medications, including antibiotic coverage for specific illnesses. As a longitudinal course, it runs concurrently with the system courses through the didactic phase of the program.
