This course provides further training in the skills and techniques necessary for gathering comprehensive medical histories and conducting thorough physical examinations. Students will learn history taking and physical assessment of the Head, Eyes, Ears, Nose, and Throat (HEENT), lungs, heart, and kidneys. Throughout the course, students will participate in hands-on laboratory sessions that emphasize the correct use of diagnostic equipment and techniques for performing these physical examinations. This combination will prepare students to effectively assess patient health and develop appropriate management plans. As a longitudinal course, it runs concurrently with the system courses through the didactic phase of the program.
