PA 601: Technical Skills and Surgery I

In this course, students will apply the knowledge, skills, and techniques acquired in Medical History and Physical Examination to effectively evaluate surgical patients. The curriculum focuses on developing proficiency in essential procedures, including handwashing, sterile techniques, intravenous (IV) insertions, and injection techniques. Students will also gain hands-on experience in wound care, nasogastric tube placement, and urinary catheter insertion. Through practical application and skill development, this course prepares students to deliver high-quality care in surgical settings, reinforcing their ability to perform critical procedures with confidence and competence.
