Brescia University and Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline are proud to announce the establishment of new scholarships, reflecting a shared commitment to education and to the future workforce of our region.
Beginning in Fall 2026, the Southern Star Scholarship will award three $10,000 scholarships to Brescia University juniors or seniors majoring in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
“Brescia University and Southern Star share a long history of supporting both the Owensboro community and the natural gas industry,” said Brescia University President Madison Silvert, J.D. “Brescia is dedicated to developing compassionate critical thinkers, and Southern Star’s generous scholarship support is instrumental in helping students reach the finish line of their educational journey.”
Scholarship recipients will demonstrate academic excellence, a strong record of community service, and a vision for leadership with impact.
In addition to this scholarship, Southern Star is committed to building a long-term partnership with Brescia University that will include mentorship opportunities, internships, and future financial support for advanced degrees and continued education for the recipients.
