Brescia University’s BUonline Accounting Program has earned a place on the list of the nation’s Best Online Accounting Degrees in 2015. The list, published by Affordable Colleges Online, was released on Tuesday, November 18th and featured 51 different colleges and universities. Brescia was ranked 6th and was the only university from Kentucky selected.
“Accounting is a critical part of any business, and companies of all types continue to seek graduates from quality academic programs,” said Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Foundation. “It’s important to recognize the colleges and programs that truly stand out, especially those going the extra mile to make online learning a priority.”
According to higher education research firm Eduventures, business-related degrees – including accounting – remain the most popular among college students.
“Students wishing to enter one of the fastest-growing career fields available have more educational options now than ever before,” said Schuessler. “The schools on our list not only have more online accounting degree programs than their peers, but also boast cost structures and student support that make a tremendous difference. They deserve to be recognized.”
Schools were chosen and ranked based on data from hundreds of colleges with online accounting programs that was analyzed by the organization. The data included metrics such as online tuition cost, number of online accounting programs, student-teacher ratio, 6-year graduation rate, percent of undergraduate students receiving financial aid and their AACSB accreditation.
After analyzing each school’s data, universities were assigned an ACO score that showcased how they ranked. Brescia received a score of 97.49 out of 100.
