Brescia Named a Best Regional College in the South

Brescia University was chosen as a “Best Regional College in the South” by U.S. News & World Report in its 2015 edition of “America’s Best Colleges.”

Schools in this particular category focus almost entirely on the undergraduate experience and offer a broad range of programs in the liberal arts and in field such as business, nursing and education.

The U.S. News college rankings group schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The U.S. News rankings are based on several key measures of quality, including Graduation and Retention Rates, Assessment of Excellence, Faculty Resources, Student Selectivity, Financial Resources, Graduation Rate Performance, and Alumni Giving.  Scores are based on data submitted by institutions as well as peer review opinion.

The 2015 Best Colleges package provides information from 1,365 accredited four-year schools and compares them on a set of up to 16 indicators of excellence.

“We are happy to be recognized again by the U.S. News and World Report. This recognition, along with the others we have received, serve as external validation that our efforts to provide a high quality collegiate education are bearing fruit. Our hard-working faculty and staff deserve a great deal of credit for the fact that we are continuously recognized in this way,” says Fr. Larry Hostetter, President of Brescia University.
