The Ceramic Art of Herb Weaver

Herb Weaver PosterBrescia University’s Division of Fine Arts is delighted to bring the ceramic art of Herb Weaver back to campus from January 14th to February 14th, 2013. His work is on display in the Anna Eaton Stout Art Gallery which is located on the second floor of the Campus Center.

Weaver is a former Professor of Art at Brescia University who taught Ceramics, Design, Art History, and Art Education over the years of service to the University. Weaver is currently Professor of Art at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia where he teaches Art Appreciation.

Over the last three decades, Weaver has taught art in higher education and approaches the making and teaching of art from a variety of perspectives. Although specializing in ceramics and sculpture, he enjoys working in all media. He has exhibited in more than 200 exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has also been invited as a guest artist and presenter to a variety of institutions both nationally and internationally. Weaver has also been active as the Chief Reader for the Advanced Placement Studio Art and Supervisor of the grading process of A.P. Studio Art Exams for the past fifteen years.

A closing reception will be held in the Anna Eaton Stout Gallery on Thursday, February 14th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with a gallery talk beginning at 6pm.
