New Bearcats Athletic Director

Larry Cox has been named the Brescia University Director of Athletics.  Cox comes to Brescia from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, OH.

Cox coached the men’s basketball team at the College of Mount St. Joseph’s for 13 seasons from 1998-2011. He started the program in 1998 and his team finished with a winning record in its inaugural season. He built the Mount program into a solid, competitive team in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Cox was also the Assistant Athletics Director for seven years.  During that time he was the direct supervisor of Football, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Cheer.  He coordinated transportation, helped with marketing campaigns, and event management for all 24 sports.  In his time at CMSJ Cox was part of a transformation in the Athletics Department from 14 teams for 24.

“I am very appreciative of the confidence that President Father Larry Hostetter and Dean of Students James Fitzpatrick are putting into me to be the next person to lead the Brescia Bearcats Athletic Department.” said Cox. “It’s humbling and I am looking forward to building upon the great academic and athletic excellence here at Brescia University.” added Cox.
