Student Leaders Recognized During Founder’s Day Convocation

Brescia University will celebrate Founder’s Day this year with a Convocation on Tuesday, January 25. The convocation will take place at 10:30 am in the Taylor Lecture Hall (Science Building).

At this event, 26 student leaders from University teams and organizations will be recognized and the two “Spirit of Angela” recipients will be announced. The “Spirit of Angela” recipients are students who were nominated by faculty, staff or other students because they embody the characteristics or qualities that were evidenced in Angela Merici’s life. Angela Merici is the founder of the Company of Saint Ursula. It was the Ursuline Sisters who established Mount Saint Joseph Junior College, which was later moved to Owensboro and renamed Brescia College. In 1998 it became Brescia University.

Fr. Larry Hostetter will deliver the Founder’s Day address. A lunch will follow in the Dining Hall. Interested participants for the lunch must RSVP to Daniel Kuntz at [email protected].
