Brescia Summer Family Workshops

Brescia University is offering two summer family workshops from the Art Department.

The first is Workshops in Clay: Clay Critters. This project will be completed and painted in a four-hour Saturday session. Participants will learn how to make a “critter” out of clay. Cost is $15 per person.

Saturday Class Schedule from 1-5 pm:
June 5, 12, 19 or 26
July 10, 17, 24, or 31

The second workshop is Beginning Wheel Throwing. It is a five day, ten total hours beginner’s course as an introduction to wheel throwing. Participants will learn the fundamental wheel throwing skills necessary to throw their own bowls, cups, or mugs. Cost is $100 per person.

Class Schedule from 5-7 pm:

Monday and Wednesday Class:
June 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28
June 30, July 5, 7, 12, and 14

Tuesday and Thursday Class:
May 11, 13, 18, 20, and 25
May 27, June 1, 3, 8, and 10
June 15, 17, 22, 24 and 29
July 1, 6, 8, 13, and 15

These workshops are open to all ages, though anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please register for them one week prior to the schedule workshop. Studio fees included in the cost of the workshop cover the clay, glaze, all necessary tools, instruction time and firing of the kiln. Both workshops will take place in the Brescia University Clay Lab, located behind Lechner Graduate Center on W. 7th Street.
