Psy 341: Psychology of Injury

This course examines the psychological impacts of sports-related injuries. This includes exploring topics such as emotional responses to injury, athletic identity, coping mechanisms, rehabilitation and recovery process, and the role of social support. Through weekly discussion-focused meetings and assigned readings/activities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of psychological processes related to athletic injury and recovery process. By the end of this course, students will be more equipped with knowledge and skills related to supporting individuals on a psychological level and gain a deeper understanding of those who have experienced athletic injury.
