This course further builds upon the Medical History and Physical Examination series, guiding students through the essential components of a comprehensive physical examination. Students will learn to identify both normal and abnormal findings, effectively communicating their observations in both written and oral formats. The course will specifically focus on various patient populations, including psychiatry, women’s and men’s health, pediatrics, and geriatrics. By the end of the course, students are expected to demonstrate proficiency in conducting thorough physical assessments. In addition to the hands-on learning experience, students will participate in a comprehensive Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), which they must pass before progressing to the clinical phase of the program. Through this comprehensive approach, students will enhance their assessment skills and effectively prepare for their future roles as medical providers. As a longitudinal course, it runs concurrently with the system courses through the didactic phase of the program.
