Brescia Alumni Art Show Call for Entries

Anna Eaton Stout Gallery at the RiverPark Center

September 3rd – October 30th

Deadline for Entries: August 21, 2016

Brescia University and the Anna Eaton Stout Gallery are proud to announce an exhibition of Brescia Alumni artwork to be held at our new temporary gallery location at the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years of age or older, and alumni of Brescia University. Artists need not to have been art majors to participate.

Media Accepted: All media accepted, including digital works, photography, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, glass, ceramics, fiber art and mixed media.

Size Limitations: Two-dimensional works must be no larger than 60” on any side, including frame. Three-dimensional works must be no larger than 45” on any side and no greater than 70 lbs.

Submission Process: There will be no juror for this exhibition, so artists should submit actual works for inclusion in the exhibition. Brescia University reserves the right to withhold from the exhibition any work that is deemed dangerous, poorly presented or for failure to observe limitations. Please keep in mind this is a family-friendly venue and work that is deemed inappropriate for a general public viewership may be withheld from the exhibition.

Artists may submit up to two (2) original works for an entry fee of $25, due at submission. All 2D work must be matted and framed or come with instructions for alternative hanging. All 3D work must come with instructions for display (pedestal, floor, wall, etc.) Due to venue limitations, we are unable to accommodate works suspended from the ceiling.

Artwork must be accompanied by the entry form, and each work should include the provided label, filled out in triplicate and attached with masking tape.

Please note we have limited space in our temporary gallery space, and cannot guarantee every piece submitted will be exhibited in the gallery. A slideshow of ALL works will be available for public viewing should there need to be space-related omissions. Should it be necessary, the exhibit will be hung “salon style” with multiple pieces sharing wall space in close proximity. All care and consideration will be given by the curatorial staff to best represent each artist and artwork submitted.

Shipping Requirements: Artists are responsible for shipment of artwork. Framed work should be behind Plexiglas instead of glass, if at all possible. Three-dimensional work should be double boxed or else properly secured within a padded wooden crate or other rigid shipping container. Brescia University is not responsible for work that arrives broken or damaged during transit. It is advised that artists purchase shipping insurance through the shipping carrier of their choice. Artists must provide return shipping instructions either through a printed label, an emailed label or check made payable for shipping costs.

Insurance: Artists are responsible for insurance of their submitted and exhibited works.
