BUonline Receives More Honors for Online Programs

Brescia University’s BUonline Associate Degree Program has earned a place on the list of the nation’s Top Colleges for Online Associate Degree Programs. The list, published by Affordable Colleges Foundation (ACF), features 35 different colleges and universities. Brescia was ranked 11th and joins Campbellsville and Morehead as the only universities from the state of Kentucky listed.

“Not every student learns or succeeds in the same educational setting,” said Dan Schuessler, founder and CEO of Affordable Colleges Foundation. “Online associate programs are great flexible options for both students and established professionals trying to build or advance a career.”

And that is exactly what BUonline seeks to do, empower students who want to learn, to do so in a format that fits their individual needs. Over 15 degree options at the Certificate, Associate, Bachelor and Graduate level are available.

“There’s no doubt that continued education is a major asset for professional growth,” said Schuessler. “We hope our ranking will be a good first step for prospective students searching for the right program to fit their career goals.”

Schools were chosen and ranked using proprietary scoring systems that evaluated hundreds of colleges offering introductory programs on a variety of criteria for community-oriented students. Criteria included: number of online associate degrees available, student-faculty ratio, loan default rate, job placement for graduates, online tuition cost and the AC Online Peer-Based Value (A proprietary metric that compares quality metrics of colleges with similar costs, and the costs of colleges with similar quality metrics.)

After analyzing each school’s data, universities were assigned an ACO score that showcased how they ranked. Brescia received a score of 93.66 out of 100.

BUonline is the alternative learning environment developed for distance learners by Brescia University. The programs offer convenience; flexibility and affordability individuals need to move forward in their careers with minimum disruption to their other life commitments.

Brescia also made the list of Top Online Psychology Degrees for 2015, coming in at number 25 on a list of the top 33 schools. Similar to the Associate Degree ranking, the ranking is the result of a scoring system in which Brescia received a 92.52 ACO score out of 100.

According to ACF, psychology is the second most popular college major, providing students with extensive career options.

“There are hundreds of career options for students with degrees in psychology,” said Schuessler. “To find the best schools offering the highest quality online education for psychology students, we looked beyond the sheer number of programs available and the total cost of a degree. Our data team spent months researching hundreds of available psychology degree programs to find out which schools truly make a difference with stand-out academics, resources and student support services.”

This recognition comes on the heels of another ranking from ACF at the close of 2014 that placed the BUonline accounting degree as 6th out of 51 colleges. Brescia was the only college in the Commonwealth to be ranked on this list.
