New Student Orientation

Brescia University’s New Student Orientation program begins Saturday, August 15. It is a four-day program with the last day being reserved for service projects in the Daviess County community.

Similar to the past couple years, Saturday’s schedule will begin with an 8 a.m. move-in into residence halls with help from various athletic teams. For those students who have yet to register for classes, they can do so at 9. During the day, informational tents will be set up in the Quad where students can receive access to their email account, identification cards and parking permits, learn about Campus Ministry, Student Support Services, Financial Aid, the Fr. Leonard Alvey Library, Counseling, the Alumni Association and more.

Freshmen will integrate into campus life through the First-Year Experience at Brescia University, participating in BU 101 courses. Orientation is the first course for BU 101. During the student’s first year, they’ll learn the rich heritage surrounding the founding of Brescia, how to acclimate from high school to college, good study habits, the importance of servant leadership, and so much more.

The culmination of New Student Orientation is the completion of a service project on Tuesday, August 18. The more than 100 students registered in BU 101 will meet at Mount St. Joseph for lunch and then disseminate that afternoon to various organizations in the county including: the Daniel Pitino Shelter, Daviess County Animal Shelter, Daviess County Emergency Management, Dismas Charities, Foust Elementary, Girls, Inc., Habitat for Humanity, H.L. Neblett Community Center, the Mount St. Joseph Conference and Retreat Center, Oasis Shelter, and Sts. Joseph and Paul Church.

The first day of classes is Wednesday, August 19.
