Student Achievement Measures

Brescia University evaluates success with respect to student achievement consistent with its mission, which reads as follows:

Brescia University is a Catholic, liberal arts institution founded in the Ursuline tradition of personal and social transformation through education. Directed to academic and moral excellence in a student-centered environment, Brescia offers undergraduate and graduate programs that serve students who seek success through rewarding careers and service to others.

This mission, discussed more fully in the Brescia University mission and vision section of the University CATALOG, drives all elements of the University. In light of this mission, the University measures student achievement based on most of the common criteria but also some University specific standards.

Graduation Rate: “Brescia University aspires to meet or exceed our FTFT retention rate and cohort graduation rate by maintaining rates that are at or above Brescia’s five-year rolling average based on IPEDS data.”

Educational Testing Service (ETS) Benchmark: Brescia University aspires to meet or exceed the national average for senior level students at other schools using the Proficiency Profile from Educational Testing Service.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Benchmark: Brescia University aspires to meet or exceed the freshman- and senior-level averages for other Catholic Colleges and Universities as identified by the NSSE report.
