Brescia to Host Largest Law School Fair in Owensboro

Brescia is pleased to host their annual Law School Fair that will span two days, welcoming visitors Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22. Representatives from Indiana University, Bloomington and SIU Carbondale, as well as the University of Kentucky, University of Louisville and Northern Kentucky University will all be participating.

Each college will have representative(s) on site to present information regarding their institution’s Law Degree Program. In addition to this presentation and question/answer session, individuals will also have the opportunity to hear from an All-Star Panel of professionals from the Owensboro legal community as they discuss working in the legal profession and answer questions.

“With representatives from five different law schools, as well as an outstanding panel of local judges and attorneys, this year’s Law School Fair will be the largest event of its kind in Owensboro.  Beyond the sheer size of this event, another unique thing about this fair is the audience that it is designed for,” stated Dr. Allen Gehring, Brescia University Assistant Professor of Philosophy.  “Not only are students already interested in the legal profession going to have a tremendous opportunity to network with a variety of legal professionals, but students that are unsure of their career path are welcomed to attend as well.  The hope is that students unsure of their careers goals will have the opportunity to explore whether the legal profession is right for them.”

The event follows last year’s agenda in that it breaks up the informative sessions into two separate days.

“We are honored to be able to host the prestigious Indiana University, Bloomington and SIU Carbondale this year in addition to our dedicated law schools in the Commonwealth. Because the event continues to grow, we have elected to host a fair rather than a one-day event to allow participants the opportunity to meet with more schools,” said Dr. Gehring.

The schedule for the two days is as follows:

Day 1: Wednesday, October 21 at the Campus Center Study Pavilion

2:00-3:00 pm                      Presentation from UK, Louisville and Northern Kentucky Law Schools

3:00-4:00 pm                      All-Star Panel from Owensboro’s Legal Community

Day 2: Thursday, October 22 at the Campus Center

Grad School Day

In addition to the law schools participating, Brescia University will also be hosting a Grad School Day on October 28 that will feature a number of other Grad Schools for those interested in furthering their education.

Schools participating include Bellarmine University, Campbellsville University, Eastern Kentucky University, Lindsey Wilson College, Murray State University, Union College, U of L Kent School of Social Work and Western Kentucky University. A representative from Brescia University’s Graduate School will also be in attendance.
