Bishop William Medley Delivers Commencement Address

Brescia University is honored this year to have Bishop William Medley as our 2010 Commencement speaker.

Bishop Medley was named the fourth bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro on February 10, 2010. He received a bachelor of arts in philosophy and psychology from Bellarmine University and a master of divinity from Saint Meinrad School of Theology. Before his ordination in 1982, Medley served as a social worker for the Kentucky Department of Human Resources from 1974 to 1978.
Bishop Medley has served as an associate pastor, pastor, chaplain, administrator, and director of the Office of Clergy Personnel in the Louisville Archdiocese. He also served on the College of Consultors, the Priests’ Council, the Planning Commission of the Archdiocese, the Priests’ Health Panel, and Priests’ Personnel Board. He has served as president of the Bardstown/Nelson County Ministerial Association and on the Nelson County Human Rights Commission.

Brescia welcomes Bishop Medley and looks forward to his thoughts and reflections as he addresses the graduating class of 2010.

Brescia University’s Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 10:00 a.m. at the RiverPark Center and will be open to the public. Seating is based on first come, first served.
