The Brescia University Honors College provides the perfect environment for academic excellence and graduate school preparation. During the fall semester of their first two years at Brescia, gifted students in the Honors College take select seminar-style courses open only to them. These courses both fulfill General Education Requirements and challenge Honors College students to think critically and apply knowledge to out-of-classroom experiences such as field trips and service projects. The program also includes an internship experience within the students’ academic discipline and a senior seminar on servant leadership. In each year’s spring semester, Honors College students continue to meet regularly for social and educational events.
Students in the Honors College will also participate in campus-wide activities and leadership opportunities, including service projects, which allow them to become fully engaged in the Brescia University campus as well as the Owensboro community.
Students selected for admission to the Honors College who plan to live on campus may benefit from the opportunity to live in one of two Honors Houses. The Honors Houses feature common areas for meetings and instructions, seminars, and discussion groups and are intended to facilitate a more learning-focused living environment.
Honors College graduates are honored at Commencement with a special medallion, and both the graduation programs and student diplomas reflect membership in the Honors College.
The Brescia University Honors College believes in taking your learning experience beyond the classroom and into the world with travel options, internships, and work-readiness programs.
