Corona Virus (COVID-19) Visitor Policy (effective May 14, 2020)
Considering recent statewide coronavirus updates, until further notice, visits to Brescia are by appointment or scheduled, routine, or recurring delivery and meeting only. Each visitor must be approved by the supervising member of Cabinet.
This policy applies to all visitors. Workplace visitors may refer to, but is not limited to, contractors, external vendors, stakeholders and the public. Examples, but not a list in totality, are vending and food delivery personnel, solicitors, job candidates, mail room delivery persons, and other business partners.
Visitors will be required to answer a Health Screening Questionnaire (administered by the Brescia employee hosting or responsible for the visitor) prior to coming into a Brescia University facility. Visitors may NOT enter Brescia facilities if they answer yes to any of the following questions:
- Have you had any of the following CDC-recognized COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days:
- Cough
- Muscle Pain
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Chills
- New loss of taste or smell
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Have you been in close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is exhibiting sign or symptoms of fever, persistent cough or shortness of breath consistent with COVID-19 who has not been tested or is still awaiting testing?
- Have you been asked to self-isolate or quarantine by a medical professional or public health official?
- Is there anyone in your household who is showing any of the above COVID-19 symptoms or who has been diagnosed with COVID-19
- Do you have a fever (temperature over 100.4 F) without having taken any fever reducing medications?
- Have you taken any medications to reduce fever within the past 24 hours?

The employee responsible for the meeting will report any affirmative answers to one of the Healthy at Work Officers (Tammy Keller or Lauren McCrary) and the visitor will not be able to enter Brescia facilities. If the visitor answers no to all questions, the person responsible for the visitor being on campus will meet the visitor for entry into the building and the office or meeting setting. If a delivery is routine or recurring, the delivery person may follow the determined procedure established by the responsible University employee, with approval of their Cabinet member.
ALL visitors must, to the greatest extent practicable, wear a mask (a surgical or N95 mask is not required). A visitor will not need to wear a mask when doing so “would create a serious health or safety hazard to the employee or when the employee is working alone in an enclosed space.” (Healthy at Work; Phase 1 Reopening, May 11, 2020). Individuals on campus must remain a minimum of six (6) feet away and/or separated by a solid barrier from all other individuals.
No groups will be allowed to congregate for any reason if they exceed the federal and state recommended number for social gatherings. To further ensure safety, Brescia University will allow groups of no more than 5 individuals, including Brescia personnel.
All visitors must comply with COVID-19 related signage indicating what behaviors are acceptable.
Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated as we continue to serve our students in a safe responsible manner. We recognize this is an evolving situation and specifics are likely to change. We would also like to encourage employees to continue to utilize virtual meeting platforms whenever possible.
