In June 2019, we kicked off the Onward, Brescia! campaign with an outrageous goal of raising $3 million over three years, to support special initiatives in the latest strategic plan for the University. We have made remarkable progress and change over these three years.
We have worked towards modernizing our campus, updating classrooms and laboratories, and implementing new technology and resources. The development of hybrid classes, while intended as a way to meet our students where they are and accommodate their different learning needs, proved invaluable in navigating the pandemic. Two new graduate programs were launched, our Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. The groundwork is being laid for our Women’s Leadership Institute, and we continue to focus on being a center for lifelong learning and continuing education.
We are excited to share with you that we not only met that three-year, $3 million goal, we exceeded it! So many generous supporters (many of you included) believe in what Brescia does that our outrageous goal became reality and we are excited to announce that we raised a total of $3.7 million for the Onward, Brescia! campaign!
Meeting one goal just means that we set another, so we are entering this new fiscal year with a new goal of establishing a million-dollar annual fund – The Brescia Education Fund – for the University. As we all know, there are many challenges facing higher education today. A million-dollar annual fund will provide the University the flexibility and resources necessary each year to quickly and nimbly navigate emerging needs and challenges as they arise while continuing to provide extraordinary opportunities for learning and discovery.
Your gift towards the Brescia Education Fund supports the difference between what it costs to provide a transformative educational experience for each Brescia student, and the amount the student is asked to cover. This fund contributes to otherwise unfunded discounts or scholarships, allows the University to keep tuition as low as possible, and enhances in and out of the classroom experiences to ensure that each Brescia student is receiving a state-of-the-art experience that will prepare them to carry the Brescia Difference with them as they enter their careers, raise their families, and make a difference in the world around them.
