Application Process – Prospective Students

Step #1: Gain Acceptance to Brescia University

In order to receive federal, state, and institutional financial aid, all prospective students must be accepted to a degree seeking program at Brescia University.

Step #2: Obtain an FSA ID

A PIN allows both the student and parent to electronically sign the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A PIN may be obtained at anytime, but do allow 3 to 5 business days for processing.

Step #3: File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) informs Brescia University of a student’s grant, loan, and work study eligibility from federal and state sources. The Financial Aid Office also uses this information to determine need-based institutional fund eligibility. Kentucky residents should file the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1st in order to receive the maximum amount of state assistance.

Step #4: Students will receive a financial aid award letter.

Upon completion of the above steps, the student will receive a financial aid award letter from Brescia University outlining all sources of aid that the student is currently eligible to receive. Brescia University makes every attempt to begin mailing financial aid packages to families beginning November 1st of each year.

Step #5: Student will sign and return financial aid award letter.

The student is asked to sign and return the financial aid award letter to the Financial Aid Office within two weeks of the date of the letter. By signing the award letter, the student is asking Brescia University to retain those funds until such time as the student enrolls for courses or withdraws their admissions application.

Step #6: Submit $100 enrollment and $100 housing deposit (if applicable).

The Office of Admissions asks every student to confirm their enrollment by submitting a $100 enrollment deposit (non-refundable) and a $100 housing deposit if the student is anticipating living on campus. Students may contact their admissions counselor regarding waiver options in the event of economic hardship.
