Significance of Date
Aug. 15 Jan. 5 Payment due to hold position in classes. Failure to make this payment will result in cancellation of preregistration and the student will need to register again. See payment plans below.
Aug. 12-13 Fall Institute
Jan. 18 MLK Holiday. No Classes on campus.
Aug. 15 Jan. 26 Opening Academic Convocation/Founder’s Day
Aug. 15-18 New Freshman Orientation
Aug. 18 Registration during office hours, with payment for students not registered.
Aug. 19 Jan. 19 First day of regular on campus classes.
Aug. 17-21 Jan. 18-22 BUonline Mod #1 / #3 Begin. Last day to DROP: before 1st chat session.
Aug. 26 Jan. 26 Last day to add/drop a regular class.
Aug. 27- Oct. 14 Jan. 27 – March 11 WITHDRAW period with “W” entered on transcript for on-campus and full-semester online courses.
Sept. 7 Labor Day.  Campus closed.
Sept. 7-11 Feb. 8-12 Deadline for withdrawals (with “W” on transcript) from Mod #1 / #3 BU Online classes—before 4th chat session.
Feb. 1 Final date for Application for Diploma to graduate in 2016.
Oct. 2 Feb. 26 Incomplete grades due for past semester.
Oct. 9 Feb. 26 Midterm Warning Slips issued.
Oct. 14 March 11 Last day for withdrawing with a “W” on transcript for semester classes.
Oct. 15-19 Feb 29-Mar 4 Semester Break. No classes.
Oct. 19-23 March 21-25 BU Online Mod #2 / #4 Begin; last day to DROP: before 1st chat session.
Nov. 1 March 1 Final payment due for students on the deferred payment plan. Late fees will be incurred for payments made after this date.
April 1 Kentucky State Grant deadline for  FAF.  Kentucky Teachers Scholarship deadline.
Nov. 9-13 April 11-15 Deadline for withdrawals (with “W” on transcript) from Mod #2 / #4 BU Online classes—before 4th chat session.
Nov. 25-29 March 24-28 Thanksgiving Break/Easter Break. No classes.
May 1 Honors Convocation
Dec. 7-9 May 9-11 Final exams. Semester exams taken on other than scheduled date – $10.00. Intrasemestral tests taken on other than scheduled date – $5.00.
May 14 Commencement
Jan. 15 June 15 Final payment due for employer tuition reimbursement.

The University reserves the right to cancel any class for which there is not sufficient registration.

Admission to class for those who pay special tuition or audit is on a “space available” basis.

Fees are subject to change without notification. If withdrawal is not made officially, the student will receive an “F” for the course taken and will be charged in full.
