Brescia University Welcomes Dr. Aaron Thompson to Speak at 2022 Commencement

Brescia University is pleased to welcome Dr. Aaron Thompson, the President of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, as the 2022 Brescia University Commencement Speaker. The Class of 2022 has over 200 students that will become graduates on May 7th at 10 AM at the RiverPark Center.

Dr. Thompson is a passionate advocate for higher education. As a first-generation college student from rural Clay County, Kentucky, he experienced first-hand the transformative power of a college credential. As President of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, he works to ensure all Kentuckians have an equal opportunity to improve their lives through postsecondary education.

“Connecting with and encouraging our graduates as they transition into the workforce is one of the best parts of my job, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to speak to the 2022 graduating class of Brescia University,” stated Dr. Thompson.  “Kentucky students motivate me every day as I advocate for higher education in the commonwealth, and I hope I can return the favor to Brescia students as they embark on their bright futures.”

Thompson received his doctoral degree in sociology from the University of Kentucky, with an emphasis on organizational leadership. He earned a master’s degree in industrial sociology from the University of Kentucky, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Eastern Kentucky University.
