Brescia University First-Time Full-Time Freshman Class Sets School Record

Owensboro, KY – Brescia University’s First-time Full-time Freshman Class enrollment has reached 231 for the Fall semester, the largest such enrollment in school history.  The previous record was 199 in the fall of 1977.

The total number of new students to Brescia University is over 350.

This class represents 14 states, Puerto Rico, and 9 different countries.

The current total headcount is 1,037 students.  This marks the 5th consecutive year Brescia University’s fall enrollment surpassed the 1000 student mark.

“As a 21-year enrollment professional, there have been few experiences as special as welcoming this record setting freshman class to Brescia University.  I am so proud of all the hard work put forth by so many people across our campus community that have made this historic achievement possible,” said Chris Houk, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “This growth is directly attributable to the hard work and dedication of the members of our entire campus community who model the Brescia Difference in their daily service.”

“Brescia is no longer the best keep secret in Western KY,” said Fr. Larry Hostetter, President.  “Congratulations and gratitude to all of our faculty and staff for creating a quality educational environment. In a special way I want to thank all those involved with the recruitment of our students. We are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, this community and beyond.  I think this record number of students in the freshman class shows that people want to be part of what is taking place on this campus.”

Resident numbers have also increased, necessitating a move into several rentals properties adjacent to campus.  The total resident population is 323.
