Judge Executive Al Mattingly to Speak at 2015 Commencement

Brescia University is pleased to welcome Daviess County Judge Executive and 1969 Brescia College graduate, Al Mattingly, as our 2015 Commencement speaker.

Judge Mattingly was elected as an Owensboro City Commissioner in 2003 and 2007 and served as Mayor Pro Tem in 2007. He was sworn into his current office as Judge Executive on January 3, 2011.

Judge Mattingly was born May 23, 1947 to Alfred and Commie Marie Mattingly and is the eldest of 12 siblings. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1965 and received his Bachelor degree in Biology from Brescia College in 1969. Judge Mattingly also served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1972.

Judge Mattingly married wife Judy (Wolfe) in 1971 and they have one son, Will.

He has always been active in his community and church, Our Lady of Lourdes. He is a member of various civic and professional organizations and is President of family-owned Acme Plumbing and Heating Inc.

Brescia University welcomes Judge Al Mattingly as he addresses the graduating class of 2015 on Saturday, May 9th, at 10:00 a.m. at the RiverPark Center. Commencement is open to the public and seating is based on a first come, first served basis.

Other graduation activities include a Baccalaureate Service on Friday, May 8th at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen Cathedral.
