Brescia University’s Bachelor of Arts in Theatre offers a new approach to the traditional theatre degree through the collaboration of higher education institutions and Owensboro’s professional performing arts center, the Riverpark Center. Not only does the program integrate technical practica, but it also allows students to put theory into practice by studying and working with professional theatre artists.
Four basic technical courses – Fundamentals of Production, Stage Craft, Stage Electrics, Costume Technology – will be taught at Owensboro Community and Technical College and seamlessly incorporated into the Brescia degree program through a shared agreement. This arrangement allows Brescia students to use high quality technology, computer systems, and other technical equipment designed specifically for theatre arts.
