Theatre Degree Collaboration

Brescia University’s Bachelor of Arts in Theatre offers a new approach to the traditional theatre degree through the collaboration of higher education institutions and Owensboro’s professional performing arts center, the Riverpark Center. Not only does the program integrate technical practica, but it also allows students to put theory into practice by studying and working with professional theatre artists.

Four basic technical courses – Fundamentals of Production, Stage Craft, Stage Electrics, Costume Technology – will be taught at Owensboro Community and Technical College and seamlessly incorporated into the Brescia degree program through a shared agreement. This arrangement allows Brescia students to use high quality technology, computer systems, and other technical equipment designed specifically for theatre arts.

Brescia’s Theatre degree gives students the opportunity to:

  • Design and mount productions on campus
  • Participate in building professional touring shows
  • Perform production work for special events such as the Murder Mystery Festival & Broadway Series at Owensboro’s Riverpark Center
  • Participate in lectures and workshops with New York and Los Angeles based theatre, film, and television professionals
