Two Staff Members Present at National Technology Conference

Chris Ford and Jack Wilson of Brescia University’s Information Technology department will be giving a presentation on “Securing Campus Network Access for an Improved User Experience” at Campus Technology’s 18th Annual Education Technology Conference in Boston, MA, July 25-28, 2011.

The Campus Technology annual summer conference is the nation’s premier higher education technology conference, where leading innovators and experts in technology for higher education guide faculty, instructional designers, eLearning program managers, information technologists, and campus administrators into the new realm of teaching and learning using the latest in applications, social software and immersive platforms.

Campus Technology conferences are tailored to the needs of faculty, administrators and IT professionals in higher education. By focusing on technologies of strategic interest to the mission of higher education, Campus Technology conferences help attendees assure that their institutions remain competitive, whether in the classroom or campus-wide.

Each conference provides a collegial environment in which attendees can exchange experiences and network with other attendees, as well as discover the latest in technology products, services and applications in all platforms, software, presentation devices, quantitative tools and technologies. Speakers, presenters and panel members are technology visionaries and thought leaders in higher education and reflect the editorial integrity and superior content of Campus Technology brand.

Chris and Jack will discuss the path for deploying differentiated network access security for student housing, campus, and guest networks to meet bandwidth concerns, protect the network from unwanted applications such as malware or peer-to-peer applications, and improve the user logon and connectivity experience. Their presentation will highlight how Brescia University solved bandwidth issues, has better network usage information, and can better meet compliance requirements.
