Information Technology Support

In order to better serve you, the Brescia IT department has put the following procedures in place to offer the support you need in an efficient and timely manner. To request support or report a problem please do one of the following:

  • fill out a support ticket at http://helpdesk.brescia.edu
  • Call the IT department at extension 4186 (on campus only) or (270) 663-4186 (off campus) and submit your request/report over the telephone.

All work performed by the IT department needs to go through one of these channels. We prefer that you use the helpdesk, but we’re aware that’s not always possible, so if you can’t use the helpdesk give us a call.

Wireless Internet Options

Full coverage of outdoor areas on campus and inside most all academic buildings on campus are available for wireless access.

To access Brescia University wireless, you must have a 802.11 a or 802.11b, or 802.11g wireless card. 802.11n is not available at this time.

Your username to login to the wireless network on campus is your brescia email address and your password is your brescia email password. If you have issues connecting to the wireless network please visit the helpdesk and submit a ticket.

Free Antivirus

As a Brescia University student, staff member, or faculty member, you have access to a free Microsoft Forefront antivirus. You may use this software as long as you are at Brescia University.

By installing this software you agree to the terms of the software and agree to remove the software once you are no longer at Brescia University You have to use your Brescia e-mail address and password to access the installer. Click here to install the software.

This antivirus only works on Microsoft products. To see which operating systems it works on you can click here and click where it says client computer.

Peer-to-Peer File Sharing Information

Brescia University takes copyright issues very seriously and we have a copyright policy in place. Both the RIAA and MPAA have stepped up their search of illegally obtained music/movies and users must be aware of the legal action they potentially face. All users of Brescia University resources are bound by use of our copyright policy. if you do not agree with our policy listed here, then you may not use Brescia University resources.

Microsoft Campus Purchase Plan

Registered students, faculty and staff are eligible to purchase Microsoft Office 2007 and other Microsoft products through our campus purchase plan. You must use your Brescia e-mail account to order these items. Click here for access to the discount site.
