Empty Bowls of Owensboro: Feeding Hungry People One Bowl at a Time
Brescia University partners with Empty Bowls of Owensboro to assist in the creation of the hundreds of handmade ceramic bowls used to feed those who attend this annual fundraiser. This year’s event takes place April 25 at First Presbyterian Church. During the event, everyone is invited to pick out a bowl (or several!) to keep, give a $15 donation per bowl, and receive a delicious meal of soup, bread and dessert. This year there will be a silent auction which will include many handmade items, including more ceramic pieces, and all proceeds from the dinner and auction go to a deserving soup kitchen or food pantry. Last year nearly $6,000 was raised and split between First Christian Church and Crossroads.

There will be two serving times for dinner to accommodate everyone this year. You can come early for the 5 – 5:30 pm serving time or 6 – 6:30 pm serving time. Also new this year will be the option to “Buy It Now” on the silent auction items.
